2016: March 1, Day 1
It was the untimely death of a friend that spurred me into action.
This wonderful human being had fought a losing battle with cancer for some years yet somehow managed to remain in uplifting spirits. To me this person reached an understanding about life and death at a relatively young age that most people will never achieve.
Her actions were so inspiring that friends and family made the best to visit her in her last days. From what I could see it was a time of fellowship and joy. She touched many people with her spirit.
In a small effort to honor her life and family I dedicate this fast to her memory.
While I have always struggled with this time of year it occurred to me that if this person were alive and well she would be taking advantage of this time. It's meant to be one of spiritual renewal. I want to try, in some small way, to do what she couldn't for some years.
So this one's for her.
Each day of the Baha'i Fast I also add a photo of the day. It's to get my creative juices flowing. This one is of my wife hanging out before sleepy time.
The opinions and views expressed in this blog are mine only and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of any institution of the Baha’i Faith. I recommend go right to the source. A good resource is a Baha'i Teachings website.
